MORE PICTURES

Since the PC board I have is 99.9% the final design, I can now post my waveform testing shots. I did these this afternoon.

Disclaimer: I'm not claiming what the upper/maximum frequency specs of the SC-1 is. I don't have the right test equipment for that. But these are photos I took of the actual ouput waveform appearing on my oscilloscope. So take it for what it's worth.

As a preamp, you expect it to go up to 20Khz. Any decent preamp should be able to do that.

While we're at it... let's push it beyond 20Khz and let's do a nice round number.... like 100Khz.

Hmmm.... still no change.... let's push it some more to 200Khz!

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. The waveform looks good, the levels went down just a little bit but not too much...

Let's turn it up to 300Khz.

Waveform still looks good, the levels are beginning to get smaller. Compare this shot with the 20khz, 100Khz and 200Khz.

I think we're nearing the limit where we're going to start seeing decreasing levels.

Let's go for broke! Push it up to 400Khz!

The levels went down a little bit, you can start to see the distortion in the sine wave. I can remove the distortion by lowering the trim knob and make it a good looking sine wave, but the levels become half of what we started with.

Tell the bats in your neighborhood sorry... the 400khz is not a perfect sine wave.
